Tech Tuesday: KISS Series, Part 3

Each Tuesday, pleasureinlearning brings you Tech Tuesday.  Come back each week for more ways to become efficient and effective in your use of technology.

This article is part of a multi-part series aligned with the KISS principle.  If you missed the first few posts, take time to read the series from the beginning.

Function keys.  Ever use those little buggers at the top of your keyboard?  Try using them.  Here are a couple that I use commonly.

  • F1 for help in most programs.
  • F2 to edit (a file name in Windows Explorer or a cell in Excel).
  • F5 to refresh a web page.  F5 also starts a slide show in PowerPoint.  Shift+F5 starts it from the current slide.  (I love F5.)
  • F6 select the contents of the address bar in a web page.
