As we teachers cover the same concepts over and over in our classes, we can all too easily forget what it feels like to experience something new for the very first time. I always get a little jolt of joy when teaching students to use the microscope to view cells and tissues. The spontaneous gasps of surprise and the students’ obvious pleasure in visualizing cells are music to this teacher’s ears. “Oh, wow, I see it!”
Maybe that’s why this video of a little girl experiencing rain for the first time found such a following in the news and on the net this week. Who can resist the chance to share in her delight?
Enjoy your weekend.
